You would be surprised!

'Light' 'Diet' 'Low fat'

So, why am I supposed to cut these products out?
Have you ever wonderd how these reduced calorie products seem to still taste yummy?
Well its all down to a wonderful group of products called Artificial sweeteners! They are technically fantastic how they can replace the calorie laden sugar and still have an almost identical taste (minus the bitterness). But really, they're not that great for us.

Heres a basic list of badness!:

  • They have been proven to mess with our brain- Its shown in studies that people who consumed one sweetend drink per day, showed an increased risk of Metabolic disorders<--------Not good.
  • Some interesting statements have been made that We are more likely to consume more food than if we were to consume the 'full fat' Version of the product
  • And studies have also shown that our core body temperature does not reach the same as if we did not consume artificial sweeteners.
These are just a few, very generalised points on why consuming Diet products do not help us lose weight.

I mean, any 'normal' Human being would have to choose the product that claims to be low in fat and calories. I know, I even do it myself sometimes!

I think that it is mainly down to the media. Im sure that these mass producers are fullly aware of the major health disadvantage of their products, but that doesn't matter, because these products will still sell; and they will probably continue to do so for many years to come. I suppose that the main thing is just to be aware of these points, there are no guidelines telling us how much we should consume because we just don't know that information.

You've probably noticed, that there is pretty much a 'Light' version of every product out there! So there's an increase in sweeteners being used and an increase in obesity.....Hmmm. Something to think about

This was pretty much short, and sweet (Get the Pun......)
So I hope it gives you some fuel for thought!
