This week I have been drinking 'Stimulating tea' from Tea Monkeys wellness range.
I often find that with herbal teas; the smell is amazing but the taste lets you down.
This tea is far from that! It has a very mild aroma with strong, peppery tastes and spicy flavours which I found unusual but very pleasant to drink first thing in the morning, its not too sweet and has a delicate balance of savoury flavours.
So, what is in it?
Black tea- Caffeine
But how do the other unusual ingredients stimulate us?
Cinnamon- Not only in the mix for adding a spicy flavour, but has been used for many years as a stimulant not only for our brains, but for the appetite and circulation.
Coriander- known for its calming affects and is also used to aid bowel movements
Nutmeg- From the world health organization- It is known for being a liver stimulant and also sometimes reccommended for constipation
Ginger- Amongst lots of health benefits, its being called a 'general stimulant' circulatory, digestive and loads more!
So this tea isn't just the bog standard 'wake me up' tea, so is not comparable to coffee and tea in that way.
This is an overall stimulating tea, from liver to circulatory to....bowels!
It has a very unique taste and I can only recommend you try it for yourself!
Remember all of the Teas in this series are only £1 a cup in Tea Monkey stores throughout January!
