Late night eating? Bad idea?

With my new summer job I have been finishing late!
But I need my dinner...right!

so why exactly shouldn't we eat big meals late at night?

Listen to this..
"tests on mice. One group were allowed to eat only during an eight-hour period, while a second group could graze on what they wanted all day and night.
US researchers found that even though the two groups were eating about the same amount of calories, those who ate at set times during the day did not become obese"

Scary stuff...
There is suggestions that eating late at night disrupts our natural body clock and can alter how the metabolism functions.
But generally, most of us are less active at night, its time to relax and watch tv/read a book, so we are not likely to burn the calories we have just consumed.
Where as after breakfast I am straight off to work and burning those bad boys off!
So  its not about the time really, its about our activity levels. It may 'upset' our body clock, but if you like to exercise late at night a few hours after your Tea which you ate quite at a later time than considered 'normal', then I'm pretty sure your not more likely to become obese than a regular person who eats dinner way before 7, and watches catch up of Eastenders.......

So if you finish work late at night, choose a lighter dinner, something lower in calories so you are more able to burn the energy off...rather than store it! (and gain weight)

So if I want a big plate of Spag bol' at 9...I must go for a nice walk.....
or perhaps Ill eat something lighter and watch T.V..
